History
Guy and David
‘The Entrepreneur Ship’ team started with the 2021 race crewed by Guy Rigby and David Murray. They set a new World Record for the oldest pair to row any ocean. They set out from San Sebastián de La Gomera on 12 December 2021 as part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge and successfully rowed the 2550 nautical miles across the Atlantic Ocean, arriving in Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua on 3 February 2021 with a time of 53 Days 3 Hours and 42 Minutes and a combined age of 124 Years and 301 days at race start to achieve their world record status.
Sam and Jake
Originally a duo, Sam and Jake, the team is now a one-man army. Sam is now bracing himself to row the Atlantic solo in the World's Toughest Row 2023. Inspired by the legacy of Guy Rigby & David Murray, the first Entrepreneur Ship team who broke the World Record in 2021. Their spirit of challenge, resilience, and determination resonated deeply with Sam.
As an avid extreme sportsman and skydiver, Sam Glover was sold on the idea of entering the World’s Toughest Row that tested his mental resilience and physical endurance. A life-changing experience never to be forgotten! Sam completed the row in 42 days, 3 hours and 15 minutes and was The World’s Toughest Row 2023 Atlantic Solo Class Winner!
Adam and Will
Adam Hardman and Will Lomas have taken on Lucy for 2024. This venture began unexpectedly when Adam's wife volunteered him to replace Will's original partner who had to withdraw. Despite being initially bemused, Adam embraced the opportunity, especially when the chance to participate in the 2024 race a year earlier presented itself. Both Adam and Will, known for their impatience, found the accelerated start date perfectly aligning with their personalities.
Neither Adam nor Will are seasoned endurance athletes, but they share a background in water sports, which they hope will give them an edge in this formidable challenge. Remarkably, their rowing experience was limited to no more than the calm waters of a duck pond until now!
